Move-day, without the mayhem

House removals and flat moves in Swansea

Moving home is exciting, but it can also feel like you are trying to organise ten things at once. Boxes need packing, keys need collecting, furniture needs getting out of one home and into another, and somehow the whole thing needs to happen on the same day.

That is why we keep the removals side straightforward. Twiggy’s is a family-run removals team based in Morriston, Swansea. We plan the move with you, bring the right vans and crew for the job, and handle your belongings carefully from the first box to the last piece of furniture.

A proper plan for your move, not a guess

No two house moves are quite alike. A one-bedroom flat with easy parking is a different job from a packed family home with narrow stairs, a large wardrobe and a new place at the other end of South Wales.

Before we give you a quote, we take the time to understand what is involved. Tell us where you are moving from, where you are going, when you need to move, and roughly how much needs to come with you. Photos on WhatsApp are especially helpful for access, stairs and the larger pieces of furniture.

For some moves, a detailed call is enough. For others, we will arrange a visit so that we can see the job properly. Either way, you get an accurate quote based on your move—not a vague estimate that leaves room for surprises later.

What is included with a house move?

A full house or flat move is more than a van turning up at the door. We bring the people, space and care needed to move your home safely and sensibly.

The right vans for the job

For larger moves, we use two fully equipped Transit Luton vans. That gives us the space to move more in one trip where the volume allows, rather than leaving you with a long and frustrating day of back-and-forth journeys.

A crew sized to your move

We work with a crew of two or three trained, insured people, depending on the size of the job. Smaller moves may need less; a fuller house needs the right number of hands from the start.

You pack, we lift

You pack your boxes, and we take care of the rest: the lifting, the loading and the driving. We load the vans in a sensible order and unload everything at the other end.

Careful handling throughout

We deal with the ordinary things that make up a home, as well as the awkward ones: sofas, wardrobes, beds, dining tables, delicate pieces and furniture that does not seem quite as large until it reaches a doorway. Every move is fully insured, and we take the time to load the vans sensibly.

No deposit to hold the date

You do not need to pay a deposit when you book. Once everything is confirmed, payment is due in full on moving day.

What moving day looks like

  1. Before the day

A move goes more smoothly when everyone knows the plan before the van arrives. We will already have discussed the addresses, access, parking, the amount being moved and any furniture that needs particular attention.

  2. On the day

On the day, the crew arrives ready to get started. We load carefully, working through the home in a sensible order so that the things you need first at the new place are not buried underneath everything else. Once we arrive, we unload and get your belongings into the right rooms, rather than simply leaving you with a pile of boxes at the door.

  3. If plans change

If there is an issue we need to work around—an awkward stairwell, a tight entrance or a delay with keys—we will speak to you and work out the practical next step. Moving day does not always run perfectly to the minute, but a calm, experienced crew makes a real difference when plans change.

What affects the price of a house move?

We do not publish a one-size-fits-all price list because it would not be honest. The cost of moving a small flat across Swansea is not the same as moving a family house across Wales or into England.

Your quote is based on the things that genuinely affect the job:

  • How much needs moving, from a few rooms to a full house.
  • The distance between your current home and your new one.
  • Large, heavy or awkward pieces that need more time or hands.
  • Access at both properties, including stairs, parking, narrow hallways and how close the vans can get to the door.

The easiest way to get a useful quote is to tell us the basics, then send a few photos if you can. We will ask the right follow-up questions and give you a clear answer.

Frequently asked questions about house moves

Do you move flats as well as houses?

Yes. We move everything from studio flats and one-bedroom properties to full family homes. Flats can bring extra questions around stairs, lifts, parking and loading space, which is exactly why we ask about access before quoting.

Do you pack our boxes for us?

No. Packing your belongings into boxes is down to you. We take care of the heavy lifting and transport — loading the vans carefully, the journey, and unloading at your new home.

How far in advance should I book?

The earlier the better, especially for summer moves and popular dates. If your moving date is close, it is still worth contacting us. We will be honest about what we can fit into the diary.

What if my moving date changes?

Let us know as soon as you can. We will do what we can to move the booking with it, although availability will depend on what is already scheduled.

Can you move large or delicate furniture?

Yes. Tell us in advance about anything particularly heavy, delicate or awkward so that we can plan properly. For specialist items such as pianos, call us first and we will talk through whether we are the right team for the job.

Are you insured?

Yes. Every job is fully insured. If you would like to discuss the cover before booking, ask Wayne when we talk through your quote.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No. Payment is due in full on moving day, with no deposit required to hold the booking.
