Frequently asked questions
Deposits, insurance, what the vans look like, and how a price actually gets made. If yours isn’t here, message Wayne — that’s quicker than most forms.
How do I get a quote, and is it free?
Yes, the quote is free, and you’re not obliged to book.
Call, WhatsApp, or email. Tell us where you’re moving from, where you’re going, roughly how much there is, and the date you have in mind. If a quick visit would make the price more accurate — stairs, parking, a room that’s fuller than it sounds — we’ll arrange one.
Photos on WhatsApp are welcome. They’re often the fastest way for us to see a sofa, a staircase, or a flat that a description doesn’t quite capture. Please send pictures on WhatsApp rather than through the contact form.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. You pay in full on moving day. We don’t take a deposit to hold the date.
That’s the same whether it’s a man-and-van hour, a house move, or a longer trip. The quote we agree is the price — we don’t add a holding fee on top.
What changes the price?
Four things, in plain terms: how much there is to move, how far it’s going, whether anything is bulky or awkward, and how easy it is to get the van to the door.
A studio flat across Swansea and a family house going further are different jobs, so they aren’t the same price. Stairs, a tight hallway, and parking that isn’t outside the house all take time, which is why we talk it through — or come and look — before we give you a figure.
Man and van starts from £40. That’s the only fixed starting price we publish. House, office, and student moves don’t have a price list, because guessing one would be wrong as often as it was right.
What if my moving date changes?
Tell us as soon as you know. We’ll do what we can to move the booking.
The earlier the message, the easier that is — especially in summer and around the start and end of university term, when the diary fills up. A date that moves with a few days’ notice is a different conversation from one that moves the night before, but we’d still rather hear it than not.
Are you insured?
Yes. Every job is fully insured.
We don’t publish a policy number or a cover limit on the site. If you want the detail before you book — what the cover includes, and what you should tell your own insurer — ask Wayne when you get the quote and he’ll tell you straight.
What vans and crew should I expect?
Two fully equipped Transit Luton vans, and a crew of two or three trained people, flexed to the size of the job.
A small man-and-van collection might be one van and a driver. A full house uses both vans and the larger crew. We say which it is when we quote, so moving day isn’t a surprise.
Do you move delicate or antique furniture?
Yes, regularly — usually as a man-and-van job or a click-and-collect, and as part of a house move when the antique is coming with everything else.
For something as specialist as a piano, phone first. We’ll talk through the weight, the stairs, and whether we’re the right people for that particular piece, rather than you finding out on the day.
Do you only work in Swansea?
No. We’re based in Morriston, and we regularly cover Swansea, Llanelli, Neath, Port Talbot, Ammanford, Cross Hands, and Bridgend.
We also do long-distance moves across the UK. The one we talk about, because it actually happened, is a student move from Swansea to Edinburgh. If your job is further than those seven towns, start with the long-distance page or just message us the two addresses.
How far in advance should I book?
As far ahead as you can. Summer, and the weeks when university terms start and end, get booked first.
If the date is already close, get in touch anyway. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can fit it in. A short-notice job is sometimes possible and sometimes not — it depends on what’s already in the diary, not on a rule we pretend is flexible when it isn’t.
Do you pack my boxes, or just move them?
We move them. Packing your belongings into boxes is down to you — we don’t offer a packing service.
What we do is the heavy lifting: loading the vans carefully, the journey, and unloading at the other end. Man-and-van and click-and-collect jobs are usually just the item, already ready to go.
Can I send photos with the quote?
Yes. WhatsApp is the best way — same number as the phone, 07956 288107. A few pictures of the rooms, the stairs, and anything heavy or awkward are enough.
Can you move me to or from university anywhere in the UK?
Yes. Student moves cover the whole UK, not only South Wales.
We’ve taken belongings as far as Edinburgh for a Swansea student, in one trip. Term dates don’t move, so message us yours as soon as you have them — those weeks book up before a random Tuesday in November does.
